Ingredients

Sugar, Maize Flour, Vegetable Fats & Oils [Emulsifiers (471, 477), Antioxidant (320)], Dextrose (From Maize), Maize Starch (Contains traces of Sulphites), Cocoa Powder (3.5%), Glucose Syrup Solids (From Maize), Salt, Raising Agents (450, Sodium Bicarbonate), Emulsifiers (Soy Lecithin, 471, 475, 477), Non Fat Milk Solids, Natural Flavours, Milk Protein, Colour [Caramel (150d)], Vegetable Gums (Guar, Xanthan), Mineral Salt (339) Antioxidant (306).

Chocolate Pudding Mix

Oven directions

  • To prepare the pudding you will need:
  • 1 Casserole Dish
  • 1 Sachet Pudding mix
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 Tbsps (60mL) Water
  • To prepare the sauce you will need:
  • 1 Sachet Sauce mix
  • 1⅔ Cups (400mL) Water
  • 1. Preheat gas or electric oven to 180ºC (350ºF).
  • 2. In a mixing bowl, place sponge pudding mix, 1 egg and 3 tablespoons water.
  • 3. Mix using a wooden spoon, or an electric mixer, mix on low speed until all ingredients are moistened. Mix on medium speed for 1 minute.
  • 4. Spread batter over base of an ungreased casserole dish or cake pan. Note: if using cake pan the pudding will appear smaller.
  • 5. Sprinkle contents of sauce sachet evenly over batter.
  • 6. Gently pour 1⅔ cups boiling water over sauce mix.
  • 7. Bake for 35 – 40 minutes. Sponge is baked if it springs back when lightly touched in the centre.
  • 8. Serve pudding hot or cold with cream or ice-cream.

Microwave directions

  • To prepare the pudding you will need:
  • 1 Microwave Safe Container 1-1 ½ litre (4-6 cups)
  • 1 Sachet Pudding mix
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 Tbsps (60mL) Water
  • To prepare the sauce you will need:
  • 1 Sachet Sauce mix
  • 1⅔ Cups (400mL) Water
  • (For a 700W microwave oven)
  • Note: Microwave ovens vary. Time given may need adjusting to suit your particular oven.
  • 1. Place 1½ cups (375mL) boiling water into a 1-1½ litre (4-6 cup) microwave safe container.
  • 2. Sprinkle contents of sauce sachet over water and stir to dissolve.
  • 3. Combine sponge pudding mix, 1 egg, 2 Tbsps polyunsaturated vegetable oil and 2 Tbsps water in a mixing bowl.
  • 4. Stir with a fork until combined. Pour batter carefully and evenly over sauce and allow to stand 2 minutes. Microwave on HIGH for 4½ - 5 minutes (if microwave does not have a turntable, rotate pan ¼ turn every 2 minutes).
  • 5. Allow pudding to stand for 5 minutes before serving. Note: Before removing from microwave, the pudding surface should still appear moist. This will disappear on standing.
